Sir Abbott Walter the 3rd,
recording on the day of May the 25th
In the orchard I now watch and wait for the feast. All around me are dark stone walls covered in soft green moss and full of cracks from age. It's the only place where sunlight shines within the caves and thus, needless to say it's the highest point throughout our home. It overlooks the village from atop a rocky ledge.
Besides the ledge, it's sealed off on all sides except for the shaft that we use to reach it. Why it's like that I'll never know... The dull flickering lights of lanterns shine brightly throughout the darkened cavern, bathing its walls with an orange hue. From outside, the waves of the sea can be heard as they gently pat against the rocky walls, and softly shake the wooden docks, making them creak and moan as they move with the tide.
We are a fishing village, always have been and always will be. Long ago our ancestors came to this place with the intent of making a home. For a long time they worked, carving this place out of the mountain side. Since then, we have continued to live here in peace.
Every day the sailors go out and fish for food, and in the evening they return with sea foods such as shrimp, lobster, crab, monkfish and many more things. Ah what joy it is to see their happy faces when they return with a good haul. And even more so is seeing the faces of the children as they happily scamper across the wooden docks to greet them.
It does my old heart good to see the young ones so playful and happy, enjoying the only life they know, but thankfully, it is indeed a good one.

The villagers are especially excited today, it being the day of the annual harvest festival and all. Today we celebrate the day that our ancestors made this place our home oh so long ago. I had begun to hear the mewing of the seabirds, as they flew over the waters below, soaring throughout the open sky. They always make me so curious… perhaps its because of how those wings allow them to fly… Oh dear I've begun to ramble… anyways soon after their cry was heard, the alarm bell was rung and the sailors returned to the port. The mewing of the seabirds always signified the coming of a great storm. Many times throughout the years, fishermen lost their lives to the seas fury, usually because they chose not to heed the warning. Although the coming of the storm is quite unusual for this time of year, it's of little consequence. Today will be yet another wonderful festival, of this I'm certain.

May 26th
As I write this account of the events that have occured this night, in the hopes someone will find this. At the start of the festival, the villagers had gathered around the fire, bringing with them the joys of the new year. It wasn't soon after this that the sky over the sea began to glow, tinting the waters a bright eerie green. Then there was the sounds of humming, and the sounds of buzzing resounding throughout the caves. If only we had taken that unusual storm more seriously... we may have been able to protect ourselves... Instead we were in the open, exposed to those beasts of death. They entered our caves from the waves of the sea, stopping to look us over, and then they struck. Suddenly there was blood spraying throughout caves, filling the air with screams and cries of the poor souls who were unlucky enough too get away. I raced towards the ladder that went to the orchard, hoping to get to higher ground. As I raced up it towards the ledge I could feel the breath of one of the beasts as it pursued me. As i clambered onto the ledge, I felt the sting of one of it's tentacles as it bit into my side. I was sure I would die, but then it suddenly gave a shriek of pain and released me. I couldn't believe that it would simply let go, but suddenly it hit me. The orchard! something about it protected me from the beasts grasp. I raced to my little hut where i promptly began recording this tale in the hopes someone can use the enemies weakness to their advantage, and avenge us, the poor people who were massacured on this night... With this done I now go to my grave in peace.
it's the beginning of a story... I hope ill be motivated to finish it...
